2019 Ford Edge Redesign, Release Date, Changes, Price. The 2019 Ford Edge is an upcoming midsize-crossover SUV that will be offered with two row of seats. The first model is presented in 2006 as a 2007 model, and from that period the Ford Edge became an important player in Ford’ s midsize crossover SUV segment.
The updated 2019 Ford Edge is expected to debut in the next few months. The process is in the progress which is confirmed with Blue Oval testing 2019 Edge in the vicinity of their Dearborn, Michigan plant.
The headlights and taillights will get a new shape. Other changes include slight changes to the fascia and a new set of wheels.
The new model will get a few modifications. It will now offer three engine variants, front-wheel drive or optional all-wheel-drive system. This model comes with four trims SE, SEL, ST, and Titanium.
2019 Ford Edge Engine Options
You can choose a base model that comes with a lot of techs and is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine that is available in SE, SEL and Titanium trim. When it comes to EPA city/highway fuel economy, the model will provide 20/30 mpg (FWD), 21/30 mpg (FWD included start/stop system) and 20/28 mpg with the AWD.
The second one comes with SEL and Titanium trims. This one will have 3.5-liter V6 that makes 280 horsepower. The fuel economy is 18/26 mpg (FWD), 17/25 mpg (AWD).
It will come only in ST trim. The EPA rating for this one model is 17/24 mpg. The towing capacity of this model is rated at 2,000 pounds.
2019 Ford Edge Aggressive and Stylish Look
The 2019 Ford Edge model is mentioned for familiar people, it can accumulate five passengers. The platform on which it is built is called the Ford CD4, and this can be seen also in the Lincoln MKX model.
The bumper is also slightly changed and now is bigger and more robust than before. The whole look gets a note of aggressiveness, the goal was also to raise the level of luxury. This is achieved by interior solutions.
There was a lot of talk about the extra technology that would be found in the Edge and make it even more practical and interesting. The model for the 2019 year will come with four trims SE, SEL, ST and the new Titanium Elite package.
2019 Ford Edge Redesign
The car is still going to be based on Ford’s modular CD4 architecture. One of the biggest problems with the current model has to be its driving characteristics. It seems the upcoming revision might change that with a new steering rack but this has yet to be confirmed.
The end result should be a far better to drive while not losing any of its comfort characteristics. The brakes might also be revised and this stands especially true for the base models which are currently one of the worse cars at their price point.
2019 Ford Edge Titanium Elite Package
As we have already mentioned early, the model comes with four trims. The company will add new Titanium Elite Package trim in this upcoming model.
The popular Platinum edition is not offered in this year model and the Titanium Elite model sits beneath the ST edition that is also a replacement for the Sports model. The new Titanium Elite package will bring outstanding 20-inch wheels, lower cladding, premium rear skid plate and a full body color sides. We also expect much more in the final version.
2019 Ford Edge Debut, Cost and Rivals
As for the price, the standard or base model is expected to be slightly priced than predecessor at about $30,000. The fully loaded model can easily pass over $47,000.
2019 Ford Edge Release Date
The test mule of new Edge crossover was massively camouflaged, so it seems that there is a long way to go until complete product. Considering that Ford originates from the city of Detroit where this auto show is held it makes sense. Anyway, regardless of the location of presentation new Edge will be presented in the following months.
