2022 Dodge Durango Redesign, Release Date, Pictures, and Hellcat. Despite the numerous reports about the 2022 Dodge Durango redesign, it has become pretty clear that the next year won’t bring a complete overhaul. Fortunately or not, the current generation of this crossover will remain in production for a couple of more years. An obvious proof for this statement is the fact that the company prepares a facelift for the next year. The testing model has been spotted and it wears a camouflage at the front, so you may presume some interesting things are happening under it.

A great thing to know is that this update won’t bring just styling changes. We are also about to see novelties under the hood, as the company is about to offer a new eTorque mild-hybrid system, while there is also a chance to see the Hellcat version. Finally, count on interior novelties, in the form of a new-generation Uconnect infotainment system. Considering all the novelties, we presume that the release date will be scheduled for an earlier date than usual.

2022 Dodge Durango Engines

The current model comes with three engines in the offer. Base versions are equipped with a familiar 3.6-liter V6, which is good for about 295 horsepower, which is more than enough for your daily needs. On the other side, two optional V8 units are a great choice if you’re looking for something peppier. The first one is a 5.7-liter V8 with around 360 horsepower, while the bigger 6.4-liter unit delivers quite impressive 475 horsepower.

According to the latest reports, both V6 and the smaller V8 are about to get the new eTorque system, which will be offered as an option. There is a chance to see 2022 Dodge Durango Hellcat in the offer, equipped with the monstrous 707-hp 6.2-liter V8. We are still waiting for official confirmation.

Durango rear 2022 Dodge Durango Release Date and Price Given the number of novelties that are expected to come, the 2022 Dodge Durango release date should be scheduled for an earlier date than usual, maybe already in the third quarter of the year. When it comes to the price, we don’t expect bigger changes, so base models should go around 30.500 dollars.

2022 Dodge Durango Exterior Changes

As we’ve just mentioned, the 2022 Dodge Durango spy photos clearly show a mule with a camouflage, which means we are about to see some new aesthetical solutions this time. At this point, we don’t know the details, but we can clearly see which areas have been camouflage.

This primarily refers to the front end, so we may presume some of the areas that are about to receive changes are grille, headlights, bumper etc. On the other side, it looks like the rear end won’t be changed too much. Some minor tweaks are always possible, but most of the things are about to remain the same. Of course, we count on those typical updates, such as new color options, wheels designs etc.

Interior

Interior changes are expected as well. At this point, we know for sure that the 2022 Dodge Durango will be one of the first models to get FCA’s new infotainment system. The fifth generation of the famous Uconnect system is about to bring improvements in various aspects, even though the current infotainment system is one of the best you can find around.

On the other side, the rest of the cabin is still a mystery. The current model looks good and features more than decent quality. Many rivals are significantly younger, so it’s no wonder the look more upscale. Therefore, we won’t be surprised if we see a couple of tweaks on the dashboard.

On the other side, the base layout is about to remain the same. This includes dimensions. Standard models come with two rows of seats, while the third one is available too. The first two rows are pretty generous in terms of legroom, while the third one is typically tight for the class. The cargo area is also pretty spacious, as you may count on more than 17 cubic feet behind the third row, 43 behind the second and more than 85 cubic feet of the overall cargo space.

Redesign

The 2022 Dodge Durango redesign won’t happen, that doesn’t mean all those reported changes won’t happen a couple of years later. As you’ve probably heard, the next-generation Durango is about to ride on a body-on-frame platform. Once again, the new model will come back to its roots and be a genuine SUV. On the other side, the corporal sibling, Grand Cherokee, will remain a unibody crossover.

We count on a lot of interesting novelties, starting from a platform that will be shared with the Ram 1500. Also, the new Durango will be much bigger, probably with proportions similar to the upcoming Wagoneer. Given the upcoming update, the next-generation Durango won’t come in the next two or three years.
