We first heard tell of an electric Chevy pickup in 2015, and saw a possible design prototype for this new model in the background of a GM presentation a few months ago. It will likely be offered with multiple powertrain configurations and battery-pack sizes. The Hummer, for reference, will offer one-, two-, and three-motor drivetrains, and the Ultium battery packs range up to a 200.0-kWh capacity.
Chevy has yet to provide a timeline for when production will start on the Silverado EV. We think it will be sometime in 2024 or 2024 given the planned rollout of the Hummer truck and SUV models. GM has said that it will offer 30 new electric models by 2025, and that two thirds of those will be available in North America.

Driving Range
This is another mystery, as no one knows how will the 2024 Chevy Silverado Electric perform. We can assume the Silverado truck will borrow a thing or two from the GMC Hummer EV. Because of that, Silverado will introduce multiple powertrain options and battery sizes. Most likely, Chevy will also offer variants with single, dual, and triple motors.
Like Hummer EV, Silverado Electric will deploy the same Ultium 200-kWh battery pack with 400 miles of driving range on a single charge. This is not official yet, so we’ll have to wait a number of months for more details. That includes various powertrain specs, including the power, towing capacity, and charging time.
2024 Chevy Silverado Electric Release Date, Price
The brand-new 2024 Chevy Silverado Electric will hit the dealerships eventually next year. More than likely, this truck will take place sale in the second half of 2022. It will be very interesting to see the competition in the electric truck segment.
That includes models such as Tesla Cybertruck, Rivian R1T, and Ford F-150 EV. The price is not available, and it will remain a mystery for the next number of months. GM also revealed the brand’s goal is to offer up to 30 electric models in the next four years.
