2024 Ram 2500 Transmission, Specs, Price. The upcoming 2024 Ram 2500 is getting additional updates as another part of mid-cycle refreshment. This heavy-duty truck is known for its robust appearance, modern cabin design, and great performances. As you know, Ram 2500 offers two potent engines, standard gasoline, and an optional diesel powertrain. The rivalry between Ram 2500, Ford F-250, and Chevy Silverado 2500 continues.
All three models are introducing upgrades year after year. Ram is now basically answering to Ford and the updates Blue Oval manufacturer provided to its Super Duty lineup. The Ram 2500 will once again offer a lot of trim levels and special editions. The sales will begin in the second half of 2021.
Ram 2500 Exterior Changes
The design of the 2024 Ram 2500 already looks modern. The heavy-duty truck wears modern and crisp lines and the bodywork is just impressive. A larger split grille is present once again, along with the narrow LED headlights. Thanks to numerous trim levels, you can opt for a more stylish or sportier appearance. One such model is the Limited Night Edition.
This variant comes with black accents and more premium features. The front part hosts an attractive grille with RAM lettering and matte black badging. You will get impressive 20-inch black wheels and various black exterior accents. The 2024MY will introduce automatic power running boards and possibly new exterior paints.
Towing Capacity, Transmission
The forthcoming 2024 Ram 2500 truck offers the same two engine options as the previous model. Everything starts with a reliable 6.4-liter V8 gasoline engine. This powertrain is producing 410 horsepower and it comes with a cylinder deactivation system. A rear-wheel-drive setup is standard, while the all-wheel-drive system is optional. If you want more power, an optional 6.7-liter Cummins V8 diesel engine is the answer.
This turbodiesel engine develops 370 hp and up to 930 lb-ft of torque. Ram will surely deliver an even higher level of torque, as the Ford did with its diesel engine. Ram 2500 can tow almost 20,000 pounds and it comes with a six-speed automatic transmission. The latest reports are suggesting new Allison 10-speed automatic transmission, but this is not confirmed yet. While there will be no new engines, the current engine lineup will surely gain more power.
Interior Features
Ram delivers an instant answer to Ford and its Super Duty interior updates. The 2024 Ram 2500 will also introduce a larger screen. It is a 12-inch infotainment touchscreen that comes with a more user-friendly interface. That, the cabin won’t gain major changes and upgrades. The interior provides a high level of comfort, as before.
If you want more luxury, upper trim levels are the way to go. As for the base variant, Ram offers pretty standard stuff such as audio/FM radio, navigation, and Bluetooth. The interior remains practical but the 2024MY could gain slightly more luxury, so the heavy-duty truck will look slightly closer to the Ram 1500 model.
2024 Ram 2500 Release Date, Price
The price of the all-new 2024 Ram 2500 will start at $34,000. The Big Horn trim level is available for $38,000 and Laramie for $50,000. The off-road Power Wagon variant costs $53,500 and the range-topping Limited model over $60,000. The sales will begin at some point in the second half of 2021.
