However, the newest reports are strongly suggesting the brand-new Tarok pickup truck. Originally, this model was planned for the South American markets. Now, the story is a bit different as the Tarok pickup could also arrive in the United States. This makes perfect sense as Volkswagen clearly thinks the Tarok model will be a huge success.
The pickup truck segment is growing and compact pickups are becoming more and more popular. The manufacturer already offers the Amarok model and the Atlas Tanoak will also reach production in the near future. Numerous Powertrain Options
If the 2024 VW Tarok is truly heading to South America, we should then expect a smaller and less potent engine lineup. Various reports are predicting two gasoline and a single diesel engine option. The base Tarok pickup will arrive with a 1.4-liter gasoline unit that develops 150 hp. An optional gasoline engine will produce over 200 hp and diesel around 150 hp.
However, a diesel engine will deliver almost 300 lb-ft of torque, which is great. As for the US-spec Tarok, a larger 2.0-liter turbocharged engine is a more likely outcome. Still, this is just another speculation and we are waiting for the German manufacturer to make it official.

The cabin design will be closer to the Amarok model, which means Tarok will provide a similar dashboard design.
We count on the same layout of buttons and controls. The concept comes with a 9.2-inch touchscreen, but Tarok will surely offer a smaller unit as standard. Still, Volkswagen didn’t say anything about possible cabin design, its features, and cab configurations.

Price is another mystery, but the 2024 VW Tarok won’t be an expensive pickup truck. Instead, its price will start between $20,000 and $25,000. Volkswagen will reportedly launch its brand-new pickup truck in the first quarter of 2024.
